With the ever-changing climate in today s economy, the safety professional s responsibilities are even more diverse, addressing issues that range from general safety, industrial hygiene, toxicology, engineering and environmental to workers compensation, all within limited budgets. To tackle such challenges, a resource is needed that is readily available, easily understood and applicable to analyzing all types of safety problems. This book does just that and much more. The strength of the contents of this publication lies in its ability to provide the essential tools to evaluate risk in a practical and mathematical approach and, therefore, reduce the potential for workplace incidents and injuries. Whether the safety professional is facing the challenge of evaluating a workplace for hearing protection, determining a safe lifting capacity, verifying the proper flow rate in a vent hood for a chemial or tracking the effectiveness of a safety improvement, Applied Mathematics for Safety Professionals is a much welcomed resource. --Anne Kogut --Professional Safety
